Mr. Gerber represents several municipalities in the southern Illinois region and has acted as special counsel to a number of other municipalities, boards, and commissions.

In addition to his municipal representation, he works with developers and contractors in development and construction issues with local governments, including development agreements, incentive agreements, zoning and construction issues.

Mr. Gerber also maintains a significant general business practice, representing clients in matters such as entity formation and structuring (partnerships, LLC and corporations), franchise agreements, licensing matters, asset purchases, sales agreements and personal matters.

Mr. Gerber handles a variety of real estate sale, acquisitions and exchange matters as well as litigation matters, including condemnation actions, mechanic's lien suits, action to quiet title, boundary line disputes and breach of contract matters.

In working with businesses and their owners, Mr. Gerber handles a number of family business planning matters and estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, family limited partnerships, irrevocable insurance trusts, dynasty trusts and probate estates.

Mr. Gerber also represents lenders and borrowers in transactions involving acquisition financing, lines of credit, term loans, letters of credit, real estate loans and other commercial financing arrangements, as well as creditor's rights and collection matters.
